Fun and Balance mod for EU4 1.9.2

Olhar interessado by PistigriloXP from flickr (CC-NC-SA)
Here's Fun and Balance updated for 1.9.2. It's mostly just compatibility upgrade.

Direct downloads:

  • Fun and Balance for EU4 1.9.2 - Download
  • Fun and Balance for EU4 1.9.2 and Extended Timeline (0.11.6 version) - Download. To avoid problems, Extended Timeline mod only works if you put it in mod folders in your documents, not one in game folder. (most mods don't care either way)
  • Fun and Balance for EU4 1.9.2 and Shattered Europe (2015-01-12 version) - Download. Shattered Europe finally got updated to Art of War map, but there are still a few minor glitches.

Changes

Mostly minor issues.

In all versions:
  • Random lucky nations - removed bias for big European countries, so it's actually random, not random subset of mid-sized and large European countries, and you can totally see Indian OPMs and native tribes among lucky nation
  • Removed fixes for Peasant War, and forming Qing fixes due to changes in base game making them hopefully no longer necessary
In Extended Timeline version only:
  • added decision to hire private military contractors after 1900, since regular mercs are currently broken in modern era (and my attempts at fixing it weren't too successful), and game needs something like this for balance
  • subject nations can't adopt secularism
  • it's possible to build any number of level 5/6 buildings in every province, not just one, to provide some way to spend money late game

  1. IT HAS ARISEN!!!

I had already started playing, unlike what I said, but this will be a nice and timely addition. Thank you.

  2. Nightwish: Enjoy the mod. Hopefully in the future Paradox will be more considerate to time its updates as to avoid any conflicts with my holidays ;-)

  3. Finally went back, and I had to change some things to not affect the game too much. Having all the peace's expiring when you have tons of AE with everyone is too interesting.
In fact, there's some things I'm not so sure about (diplomatic relation number) and I'll change them too. I think you might be spreading the modding virus.

  4. Nightwish: A bit of modding is really easy. One thing I just found is that increasing DIPLOMATIC_INTEREST_DISTANCE in common/defines.lua from 150 to 250 pretty much fixes the problem with not having enough rival choice. That alone almost deserves a campaign.

  8. Khalifa Aliryani: crashing at loading screen sounds weird, even when it fails to load a mod, game usually just keeps vanilla stuff

Could you delete everything and reinstall latest version of EU4 and all mods just to be sure?

There are also logs in C:\Users\\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\logs, they can be used to debug stuff.

  12. Anonymous: Which version of EU4 and the mod are you using? There should be working versions for every EU4 version, and it's in the file name.
